This is primarily a new business sales role.  The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for meeting or exceeding their sales quotas as defined.  Focused on selling ERP, MRP, supply chain  software into new business.  Selling to senior level contacts, C and Director level and will involve seeing the process through from initial contact, qualification, analysis of client requirements and current issues and closing the deal. Responsible for managing the internal resources at their disposal including Pre-Sales, Technical and Marketing.  Responsible for managing  pipeline, generating leads (with the support of marketing) .You will be expected to stay abreast of latest sales developments and contribute to the functional strategy by applying them within the organization. You  will be expected to split their time between the Birmingham (3 - 4 days a week)  office and visiting clients, although there is some flexibility.

Education / Training / Work Experience:

Minimum 5+ year’s New Business Sales experience.  Previous experience of selling software is essential and experience of selling ERP/Supply Chain software would be an advantage.

Knowledge & Skills:

Fluent in English, both verbal and written.  Ideally understand the ERP industry incl. supply chain, operations, business issues, typical organization and culture.  Must understand the software selling process and be able to gain access and have impact with senior level executives.  Understand  products and  competitive differentiation as relates to the needs of the Supply Chain Industry.  Have the breadth and versatility to function both at the strategic and tactical level.  Highly creative and forward thinking and at the same time very organized in terms of setting priorities and time management.    Must be able to work effectively cross functionally and with partners.  Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
